2025 Dumond J. Janvier Educational Excellence Scholarship.
Our Founding Attorney, Guerda, established this scholarship to honor her late father's unwavering belief in the power of education. He taught her that real success comes from lifting others as we climb. This scholarship honors his generous spirit, embodies his values of hard work and integrity, and honors his memory by providing opportunities to students who share his determination and recognize the transformative power of education.
For that reason, we are proud to offer The Dumond J. Janvier Educational Excellence Scholarship, a $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to one incoming or current undergraduate, graduate, or law student. Scholarship Eligibility
- The scholarship is open to any current high school senior, vocational student, college student, graduate, or law student who is a resident of the United States, residing in Florida, and who is enrolled in a vocational program or a two to four-year post-secondary institution for the Fall 2025 semester in the United States
- Candidates for this scholarship should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and be in good overall academic standing.
The Application Process
Applications will begin to be accepted on February 2nd, 2025
The candidate must fill out the form below with all necessary information
- The candidate must submit a 750 -1,000-word essay response to the prompt: Share an experience where you've helped others while pursuing your own goals, and explain how you plan to continue embodying this value throughout your education and career.
- Please note that all essays will be checked for AI writing. The application will be denied if AI writing is deemed present in the essay.
- The candidate must submit a resumé listing their professional and academic experience.
- The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school and the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school students can submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.
- The candidate must submit their application and application materials through the form provided on this website. We do not accept applications or application materials via email or any physical mail service such as USPS, FedEx, etc.
- The candidate must agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions below
Scholarship Deadline
Submission of application and supporting material must be received no later than June 30th, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST.
Applications submitted after this date will not be considered eligible.
Selection & Award Notification Process
Prosper Injury Law’s scholarship selection committee will review all applications that meet this scholarship’s criteria. Age, race, religion, gender, national origin, familial status, or other protected classes will not influence the committee’s decision.
The recipient of The Dumond J. Janvier Educational Excellence Scholarship will be chosen on or before July 31, 2025, and will be notified via email and/or phone call.
Prosper Injury Law reserves the right to award more than one scholarship to more than one well-deserving student in any given year, depending on the number and quality of candidates.

Prosper Injury Law will only contact its winning student before announcing that winner on its website and/or social media pages. The student can expect congratulations to appear as a blog post and/or press release. The scholarship check will be mailed to the recipient’s home address and made out to the recipient’s chosen academic institution.
Terms and Conditions
All candidates for this scholarship must meet the eligibility requirements as detailed above, including:
- The candidate must be enrolled at a college, university, or graduate school
- The candidate must be at least 18 years old at the age of enrollment
- The candidate must have residency in the United States
- The candidate must be in good academic standing
- The candidate must submit personal information, including name, contact information, and proof of enrollment.
- The candidate must author an original essay on the scholarship topic provided.
- The candidate must comply with all IRS and state tax requirements, as applicable
- The recipient (s) must agree to submit a video acceptance at the time of the award announcement, which may be used for marketing purposes or any other legal purpose, including to promote this scholarship opportunity in subsequent years.
Anyone who meets the following conditions is NOT eligible to apply:
- Employees of Prosper Injury Law, their immediate families (parent, child, sibling, and spouse), and persons living in the same households of such individuals (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate in the competition.
- Past recipients of The Dumond J. Janvier Educational Excellence Scholarship
- Candidates who are unable/unwilling to be interviewed by a representative of Prosper Injury Law, if they were to be awarded a scholarship.
- Candidates who submit the same essay for multiple scholarships or for multiple years in a row
Privacy Statement
We reserve the right to use the winners’ names and photos in any announcement or communication related to the scholarship on Prosper Injury Law’s website, marketing materials, or social media posts.
