How Prosper Injury Law Helps Our Communities?

Pro Bono Services

We are dedicated to giving back to communities throughout Florida through essential pro bono legal services. Our team stands ready to help those in need, ensuring that access to justice and quality representation isn’t limited by financial means.

Pro Bono Services Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What is Pro Bono?

Pro bono is when professionals, like lawyers, offer their services for free. This usually happens to help individuals who can't afford legal help. The main idea behind pro bono work is to ensure everyone has access to justice, especially those in need. It’s all about ensuring everyone can get legal representation without worrying about the costs

2. What Pro Bono Services Do You Provide?

In 2025, we will concentrate our efforts on Sealing & Expungement and Guardian Advocacy, ensuring we provide top-notch support in these areas. While our primary focus will be on these services, we are open to exploring other possibilities. Don’t hesitate to contact us to see how we can assist you!

3. How Do I sign up?

The process is straightforward: click here to complete our contact form. Once we have received your form, a member of our team will contact you to schedule a consultation. If we determine that we can assist you, you'll sign the Engagement Letter, and we will handle the rest. Please note that we have strict limitations on Pro Bono services, focusing specifically on Sealing & Expungement and Guardian Advocacy services, which we can explain during our consultation. Many of our Pro Bono programs are staffed by law students under the supervision of a licensed attorney. Due to this structure, we have a limited capacity to take on clients at any given time. Our law students come from Florida International University School of Law, Barry University's Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, and the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University – College of Law.

4. I am a current law student and want to help.

If you are a law student interested in joining our program as a volunteer or for credit as an intern, please fill out our contact form to submit an inquiry.

Scholarship Opportunities

Our law firm is proud to offer scholarship opportunities for degree seeking students as a key component of our mission. We recognize that education, while invaluable, presents a significant financial burden in today’s climate of rising costs. Through these scholarships, we aim to provide meaningful financial assistance that can help offset educational expenses such as textbooks, course materials, or other academic necessities, allowing students to focus more of their resources toward their studies.

The Dumond J. Janvier Educational Excellence Scholarship

Our Founding Attorney, Guerda established this scholarship to honor her late father's unwavering belief in the power of education. Her father taught her that real success comes from lifting others as we climb. This scholarship honors his generous spirit, embodies his values of hard work and integrity, and honors his memory by providing opportunities to students who share his determination and recognize the transformative power of education.

Prosper Injury Law proudly offers The Dumond J. Janvier Educational Excellence Scholarship, a $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to one incoming or current undergraduate, graduate, or law student.

We are accepting applications until midnight on July 15, 2025. Please visit Scholarship page to learn more about this scholarship and how to apply.

Charitable Giving and Activities

Our community service initiatives demonstrate our unwavering commitment to making a tangible difference in the communities we serve. We actively engage through strategic charitable contributions, seasonal toy drives, comprehensive youth sports and school sponsorship programs, and professional involvement in mock trial competitions. We further extend our impact through personalized mentorship, public speaking engagements, and legal educational seminar initiatives designed to foster growth and opportunity within our community.
